Dane Don't know the round BUT it's big enough, if it is expanding and over 1700ft lb it is legal for ALL deer in England!!!! Edited November 26, 2008 by Deker Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
i dont think the 6.5x39 grendal is deer legal in the uk, however it is capable of taking deer, i think you can only reload for it too, but i think ammo is available stateside however............ i'm nearly sure i read in a mag that it ain't deer legal, however i may stand corrected, someone from england may know better hope you get sorted out Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
The joys of Wikipedia If the figures below are right, then it's deer legal throughout the UK. 123 gr (8.0 g) Sierra Matchking 2,650 ft/s (810 m/s) 1,917 ft·lbf (2,599 J) AFAIK it's a wildcat so you'll be reloading. Or you could just shoot .243 and be done, similar figures. Let's NOT have the whole debate again though! Edited November 26, 2008 by Mr_Logic Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
If you can find it, try and find Bruce Potts' article in either Shooting Times, Sporting Shooter or Sporting Gun, it was a great article from a man who really does know about rifles! It covers the 6.5 Grendel, and all the other 6.5 and 6mm calibres. Very, Very good read if its published online SS Quote Link to post
provarmint 25
Bruce Potts figures in Shooting Times:- 129-grain SST Hornady 28.5 grains Hodgdon Varget = 2551 fps, 1864ft/Ib of energy from a 24 inch barrel. Going up to 140-grain Interlock, same load 28.5 Varget = 2473 fps, 1902ft/Ib. (Safe in his rifle) ATB PV. Quote Link to post
