Keeps 403
We were back out yesterday, back to the woods we did last week. We had arranged a couple of weeks ago to meet up with Floyd and his son but had to postpone because of the dreaded flu. The night before my daughter & her boyfriend asked if they could come along too, so there ended up quite a few of us - the more the merrier, though its hard to stay quiet We woke up to a blanket of snow and set off - the roads on the way there were very bad, as it was early Sunday morning, no gritters out and not much traffic on the roads to shift the snow but we managed to get to the spot were were ferreting and made a start. We haven't ferreted these woods in snow before, and it was pretty treacherous, quite slippy, and difficult for us to keep our balance in places, as some will testify so it was hard work for the dogs, who run in already difficult conditions. We had a good morning, but it was bitterly cold, saw some good catches by the dogs, both Indie and Nuala, who is now coming into her own. She's come on so much the last few months and catches around the same amount as Indie now, but he is nearly always the one to retrieve them back as she is very submissive to him. We knocked off fairly early as mr keeps had to go to work but had an enjoyable morning out - not a huge bag but still an entertaining morning. Some pics Some long & difficult courses down through the woods and up the bank on the opposite side to us no sooner was he back and they were off again - you have to look carefully to see these, the snow helps, normally we don't get to see these type of courses very clearly retrieved right back to his mam Nuala with my daughter after a mornings hard work, indie was very happy to have a roll around in the snow - he loves it! a few very very cold but happy ferreters Quote Link to post
