MR TEA POT 1,287
I took my new lurcher out for a walk yesterday,i was walking down by the side of a hedge,i looked up and there was a landrover coming up the field,so i ran up to the footpath(i wondered off it a bit ).Saw a bloke get out and he shouts "oi,come here ",i thought feck me here we go. He was asking about the dog how its bred and all that then he hit me with it. He said "can that dog of yours catch rabbits"i said he will do,but he is only young at the mo,so we carried on taking and i said "have you got a problem with rabbits"he said "yes all along that hedge there".So i said i can help you sort them out, as i have got ferrets and nets.I told him i already have ferreting permission nearby and told him the farmer's name, who he knew.So he took me down this hedge and the holes where run to feck, paw marks in the mud, fresh shite all around them and as we was walking down 2 rabbits hopped out the hedge.I said start tomorrow(sunday)farmer said no as he was away some where, and he wanted to come and watch, could i make a start next saturday, which i said yes.. I shook his hand and said thank you see you next weekend, just as i was leaveing he said do you shoot and i said yes shotguns and airrifles. He said great could you have a crack at the pigeons on my rape fields,so by this time i was buzzing . I will put some pics up next weekend as i did not have a camera with me. So a little walk with the dog turned in to getting some permish for rabbit and pigeons. The best walk i have ever had .I had a few pints last night to celebrate roll on next weekend. will.f11 24
i got some today, was walking down the road with all ma gear and a couple mates and a couple dead rabbits, some old ladie came up to us about rabbit damage in some comunal gardens for the elderly, she did our job for us, went round and checked it was ok with EVERY house and then showed us around, we cant tackle with ferrets as the rabbits are coming on the gardens from elsewhere, but a handy little bit of air rifle shooting as the old dear is happy for us to lean out of her windows in the warm with a nice cup of tea lmao. Great but need to find time for it Quote Link to post

stubby 175
good news on the permission, certainly gives you a buzz dont it, sorry to hijack ya post, but i got some today, was walking down the road with all ma gear and a couple mates and a couple dead rabbits, some old ladie came up to us about rabbit damage in some comunal gardens for the elderly, she did our job for us, went round and checked it was ok with EVERY house and then showed us around, we cant tackle with ferrets as the rabbits are coming on the gardens from elsewhere, but a handy little bit of air rifle shooting as the old dear is happy for us to lean out of her windows in the warm with a nice cup of tea lmao. Great but need to find time for it cant you find where the rabbits are coming from, get the old uns to write a letter of complaint and get ferreting there, Id be very careful leaning out of windows in a comunial area shooting air rifles, Quote Link to post
will.f11 24
Yes I suppose steve. We could find out but TBH the ferreting off the moor is almost impossible here, alot are in cover which the only method is shotty or longnet. We longnetted a thorny patch yesterday to only get one lol. Im not too keen on it as i only really ferret the moors Quote Link to post
