robsharpe 1
we were out the other night selecting an ash tree to cut down to make some new pegs for woodgas peg wires ,we felled the tree  then cut it down into sections to transfer back to the car 14 bits at 7" ,and some left to pick up ,woodgas made a start on the pegs quartering and the cutting up the quarters to rough shape pegs the shaping them to the right size ,you might say thats a lot of work for something to hold ya snare down ,but as the title says pride in the job will get the finished article picture up when i get down to see him ,its just an insight as to what it takes to make these Quote Link to post

pegandgun 52
You got a big sack of pegs Woodga.Approx 350,but they where only 6" long which wasnt long enough for you at the time so Moley got them.Recent talks gives me a sneakey feeling you may be changing your peg size to 6" which is ample length for all but the very softest ground... maty j 6
it may seem like a stupid question but how do you get from big round logs to litle pegs without wasteing lots of wood? i could do with some for nets. Quote Link to post
woodga 170
matt split your logs into sections then split them again withyour axe into half incch slices if you have abench saw cut them to width other than that split them with an axe justlike kindling you dont waste much wood and you can get loads of pegs from one 7 inch log approx 75 good hunting all woodga  Quote Link to post
