scottishlass 57
Was down at the mother in laws last week, they live in a cottage on a big estate and look after the big hoose, they have been having problems with mice in there own house so after setting traps and killing a few and still they were running riot,They got rentokill in as its free cause the estate pays for it.They came and put traps down ,sticky ones ,so when the mouse runs across it gets stuck by its feet (first time i had seen these) you then have to bop the mouse on the heed to kill it.Good job the mother in law does not mind doing this but she still likes the old eat the cheese and snap the neck ones :11: Quote Link to post
stubby 175
sticky boards, we use them alot on the underground, place maybe 50 in a line along a platform, sometimes you can catch 40 plus, other times 2 if used correctly, the rodent normally dies once stuck, as they cant expand the lungs to breath, so the "bop" on the head aint neccessary, far easier to simply fold the board in half Quote Link to post
heart of wales 19
We used these a lot when I worked for Rentokil very effective if used correctly, had a mate once who was shall we say clumsy to the extreme,we used to make them once from TAK TOO and cardoard ,on his first tak board treatment it was a golf club and I was to go with him to show him how to do it,unfortunatley I was held up for over an hour and he decided it was easy and started on without me,he had made behind the storeroom door the steward had gone in to see him opened the door and knocked him on top of them  laughed I nearly pisssed myself it took me an hour to get them of him. OldTrapCollector 377
I don't have many morals so far as trapping is concerned but from a humane aspect I do find the thought of using mouse tack boards a bit hard to justify OTC Quote Link to post

RatSnatcher 0
No dig at anyone at all, but i was taught to use these as a last resort, happy to say they are still un used and in the store Quote Link to post
heart of wales 19
The only time we would ever and I would ever use them now is if it is a very heavy infestation or else all other methods have failed, they gain quicker control of the problem than poision and provide a cheaper alternative, however they should only be placed when they can be checked every 12 hours Numbered along with a plan, didnt realise you wanted a method statement with every post. Guest Talon
I don't have many morals so far as trapping is concerned but from a humane aspect I do find the thought of using mouse tack boards a bit hard to justify OTC agree with ya on this one , not humane at all The companys like rentokil who use they boards arent really concerned with humane methods, most of the guys using them have probably only been in the job five minutes and would have the first clue how to set a trap or even be interested in knowing how to......the boards are much better suited to the modern pest controler, chuckem down and forget about em and put in you report the infestation has been treated...and bill the customer!! Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
We live next door to fields, we hae rabbits, guinea pigs & cockatiel living outside. My mother (she lives with us) only bought a load of these glue traps rom local hardware store & put them outside in the garden???? She's also bought a plug in sonic mouse repellant for the garage- we p*ssed ourselves laughing cos we got normal traps down that have killed the mice. She bought a baitless trap as well that dont work. The glue traps not got anything either Personally I think she's crackers. We've had to use some poison when we noticed rat runs recently- that's stopped then but the mice are sods- found one up the top of the cockatiel cage today- its got thru twolots of mesh & climbed up it- not for long Quote Link to post
