whats your biggest bag of rabbits your had

Recommended Posts

Around 7 years ago, there was no mixi around the area we work. (only once in 16 yrs) At this time we had the great dog 'Roy' (of all names), At the top of his game, super fit, plated and pinned leg, collie grey rabbit machine. (a blue and white dog as well to make things better!)

Not a fast dog, not a big dog, but a bloody determined dog! (hence the plated leg) The dog was a machine, like a terminator version of a rabbit dog. Run, mark, hunt up and catch all day, over any terrain.

Only the best got away from him.

At the same time, I was a super fit lad, at 28 yrs old, at my peak, keen as hell as most of my drinking nights had past, and my women chasing kurbed! Had dynamite ferrets at the time, young and in good order from working week in week out.

At the same time I am dragging an old bugger being my father round, he was and still is the driving force of the outfit to be honest, even though he gets some stick.

We hit a 105 Bag in February, not a September day, with 2 men, 1 dog, and 2 ferrets.

Just to piss me off, the old feller went out on his own 3 days later and got a 103 Bag with the same dog, and same ferrets.

This is why sometimes I just see the 40's and 50's as normal workdays, they will come again one day!

Here's a piccie of the old dog, sadly PTS around 6 weeks ago at 13 yrs, still working till 12 yrs old as in the piccie!

Wish i had digi camera back then.
