Huffski 1
Hello cube. I phone BASC up about mine and he said the best refferees to have is your best mates. I had already put my mates dad who is a doctor down but the chap at BASC said get your mates to do it so my second refferee was me best mate. Its changed now it doesnt have to be doctors vicors and people like that anymore. Just basicaly put the people down that know you the most but obviously not your family. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Referee's are different to Countersignatories. A countersignatory is signing the form to say that to the best of his knowledge, what you have entered is true, and then signs a Photograph to say that it looks like you! They still say for Countersigning an SGC application, a person of standing is best, but to be honest, someone who owns land or runs a pub or anything similar, has standing. A referee is required to give a character reference. Now I agree with BASC on this point, who better to give a character reference than someone who has known you years. Cube, Yes one of your landowners can give you a reference, but it asks that they have known you for more than two years personally. And the person who does your Countersigning of your SGC can also act as a referee yes. When I have mine done, I have a good friend who is a teacher, who does one reference and my Countersigning for my SGC. The other referee is my Head Keeper, who I've known for a long time and shot with a long time. SS Quote Link to post
Dan_Smiff 2
When I sent mine off I used a mate and my future father in law as they both held FAC's and SGC's and I figured that cert holders would be good to use for the character ref. Quote Link to post
