jackard 36
Ive been a member of this site for a wee while, but am not new to dogs and hunting. I really enjoy reading some posts and viewing all the pics of dogs hunting etc. I like to keep myself to myself so dont post much. I suppose am a bit of a free loader getting all the fun without inputting much but hey each to their own right? Hope this doesnt offend anyone but have you ever skipped a few pages into a topic without reading the starting post comment?? Well i have a few times since joining the sight and 8 times out of 10 its like kids in a play ground...people missing other peoples points..people slagging one breed against another or some who just seem to be stirring in general. Its just an observation ive made am not trying to be a smart arse or anything but it spoils topics and leaves a bad negative feel. I cant understand why anyone would or has the energy to argue with someone over the internet??!! I got writing this after reading a resent post about one members thoughts on raising a pup..giving some general pointers about its upbringing. Cant remember the members name to hand but personally i thought it was real good sound advice. Not that my opinion is worth any more than the next mans but i thought his advice was a secure method of not spoiling a pup..and great words for the newbie bringing on or thinking of getting a lurcher pup. Still however the ugly head of confrontation and objection was raised by others. Hunting is to some people a complete way of life which is fine and no one can tell another man how to lead his life but it would pay for some on this site to maybe leave a little room aside for some thinkingbefore replying to topics with negativity and ignorant or arrogant replies. Thanks Guy12 totaly agree mate ewith what your saying . top man

Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Good post, I 've not been here long myself & find lots of topics really interesting & it's been a real eye opener to me. i'm not naive or a do-gooder, we need working people & dogs. I post where i think I've a something worthwhile to say/or think I have experience to do so. This forum is by no means the worse for bickering & it has been loads better since it disappeared for the day. I spend more time here than I do on alot of other sites mainly cos the people here are real, dont pretend to be something they're not & have a good laugh. Plus there's loads of stuff to catch up on
mackem 28,545
A valid point, the bickering is creeping back in. There is a topic on using .243 in Rimfire Centrefire & Shotguns that has turned into a playground slanging match Shame really as it started out as an interesting thread. I was part of that thread, and hold my hand up that I shouldn't have carried on replying to a Childish tiff But I was provoked by just the reasons you talk of above But I agree with the OP. How often does a thread take the complete wrong path? Almost always, look at the one below this on moving to Surrey SS Surrey engenders that sort response SS,its an emotive place
donk 12
This site is just like life, theres good bits and bad bits. Theres bits that make you laugh and theres bits that put a lump in your throat.(yes even us 'rock hard' hunters can get emotional ) Theres bits we all agree with, and other bits that boil our p!ss. It would be a crap site if we all agreed on everything Now get out there and get some hunting done
