i buying my 12 year old son a lamp for xmas , iv looked on net and came across a kit called Verminator Complete Lamping Kit as any one herd of it or used it .

its cheap but if its rubbish would rather buy some thing better . so any help would be gratefull thanks

get a small deben power pack and the smallest lighforce lamp, more than adequete for anything and will last for a long time, havent heard of the kit you mention but buy cheap buy twice!

or a clusion lamp and battery kit, the good thing about lamps etc is if he decides he no longer has an interest in lamping, you can always get a good price for them second hand

he wont go of it hes out every nite with his dog at mo just using big torch but wind rain or snow bless him he takes him out just wish he wud take terriers lol

sounds like a clusion may be better for him, battery and lamp is one, and it is lighter to carry than most and holds a decent charge, perfect for bunny bashing.

i think the cheapest thing will be to buy a lightforce (i prefer the striker but lance would do him i would think) and go to your local motor bike shop you get a cheap battery there be perfect thats wat i use to use till this season...

i got a lightforce 140 lance with a deban pack, and the only complaint i have is that after the time ive had it the batterys are f**ked the lamp its self is a belter and its done me well over the years, cheers karl

although i rate the lightforce lamps better, the wiring is crap, ive had to rewire mine and fix other bits 2-3 times now and for a 12 year old lad i feel the cluson will be more ro-bust and he will have less problems with it? just something for you to consider

I would go with the cluson, the company are dead helpful if you have any problems and if you need any bits they are very quick to post them out.

i agree with thurso jack got my lad that lamp a good few years back he never had a problem with it and if lad gets pulled where he shudnt be not 2 bad 2 replace and boys will be boys

I bought a cluson cb2 delux charger,lamp and battery in a carry case £120 about 5 years ago and the battery went about a month ago now but a new 17amp battery only cost me £20 and my son droped the lamp and smashed the bulb but new one is only a fiver and the lamp has a walking light on it as well as the main beam and like some one else said cluson are more than happy to help even 5 years on I think there spot on and highly recomend them.
