rip jasper...im sorry it went this way chrissi,it was out out of your hands really...inevitably the result wud of been the same only time being the difference,fortunatly not at a child or anyone elses expence...if only every one could be as responsible as you....countless heartache could of been saved....

You did the responsible thing here but remember the hurt you feel now when/if you get another dog. Dont let it become the dominant one. You did well to give him 8 good years so think of it that way.

I admire your strength for making this decision which cannot have been easy. As others have said- remember him for the right reasons, you had 8 yrs of memories & no one can ever take them away from you. It does get easier eventually
