Mars 42
i think its straight manchester terrier...black and tan with short legs,,,we were working them today but i didnt remember to take a pic of it......will do it when i remember The Pure bred Manchester terriers i`ve seen have been Quite long in the leg being around 15" to 17"... I seem to remember reading recently that they are Quite rare these days.... Another breed ruined by the kennel club, Yis Mars.. Quote Link to post
Ruairi 0
was askin around the place and nobody seems to keep or work them anymore Quote Link to post
farlap 19
was askin around the place and nobody seems to keep or work them anymore I know a number of people that keep them and they are fine ratters..which is what they were afterall designed to do. Im confused though......why do people think they have been ruined?? Just because they are not so popular doesnt mean they are "ruined". Their feistiness is one of the reasons they arent so popular with pet owners!! Quote Link to post

AKeeNShoT 5
just wondering if anyone keeps or hunts them?? hello mate about 30years ago a guy i new old ted ,had 3 manchester terriers one of them crossed with a small staff they worked rat and rabbit and were top notch at the job, the 2 pure manchesters would take fox on once we dug down to them and pull them out to be dispatched . the staff x manchester was totally crackers he had the strength n stamina and could easyly nak foxes, all 3 dogs loved getting into the fields. i have tryed to buy a manchester pup for 3years without success, seems they are sold [bANNED TEXT] they are born . and seems they are all bred down south which seems odd 2me but the 3dogs i seen worked till teds death did as well as anyother breed above ground a good sporting dog that needs to be seen more on the vermin hunts cheers mark Quote Link to post
