old dog 210
happy wednesdays have started for me ,out today on the hill just running the hounds "no guns" couple of the boy's have got lurchers, real good scent today they were going well.Put the first fox off he run around the gorse for a while then they pushed him out towards the hill he went straight over the top into the next valley and then turned right handed and made for a big rock pile which he knew was a good strong hold, hounds were smack on his line all the way which was veiwed by all the boy's except me ,by the time i got over the hill the hounds were on the rock pile,he was lefted for another day.Put hounds back into the gorse we actually rose another 4 ,the same sort of thing, round and round one running the same way as the first, while the other 3 going back down to the low land which were lefted for another day,We back up on the hill for the next few wednesday's but in a different part,it's good for the first year hounds which i can't fault at the moment. old dog 210
Breathtaking scenery, Looks like a great place to run a fox. its a great place for running young hounds, they can see whats going on and there's no fences only big rock piles, and fair play the fox's up there do run a long way usually in a circle but a big one.you can stand in one place with a pair of binoculars and view most of the hunting, and you can also see what hounds are doing Quote Link to post
