scalder 0
Shooting in general is a massive contribution to the econonmy, and provides thousands of people with jobs, while helping to manage our countryside and wildlife. It also keeps many kids of the streets, and away from drugs, and prison. I know what to do. Why dont we slowly start banning it untill the nearest distance were LEGALLY allowed to come into contact with a firearm is when its ILLEGALY pointed at you by someone robbing you !!!!! I would make a good MP but Unfornutaly I was born with a brain cell so it looks like im overqualified for the position !!! :realmad: whats next ???? there has also been a lot of deaths on our roads at the weekend as and from monday they are banning cars no one is allowed have a car incase there is aaccident ???? for fucks sake .... Guest JohnGalway
The spinning machine is busy. Apparently it's not a blanket ban. Divide and conquer anyone? It's mostly on handguns over "sporting calibres" I believe. Though at renewal time next July owners will have to comply with whatever restrictions the DOJ can come up with. I still think that's going to be a financial nightmare. The media have dropped the story here, which I find strange, they've been ranting and raving about all these "deadly glocks" (which as we all know means every handgun, no no I don't care if it's a Sig or CZ it's a Glock, right!). A lot of people here, myself included have been busy writing to politicians. Personally I'm not going near the media, they've never done anything for shooting here, save for a tiny tiny minority, except put the boot in. Quote Link to post

Jim Grant 4
The ROI usually take a couple of years to catch up with other country. Is this that the Politicians in the ROI take that wee bit longer to latch on to what most of the other brain dead b*****d, knee jerking, politicians have managed to achieve this last decade. Why will they not read the surveys which tell them that registered and legal rifles and handguns are not used in criminal acts. Easy way out of it for the Politicos each firearm will fire three rounds in a controlled environment and they will be retained by the powers that be. Record the whatever and you have the culprit. Weapons from outwith the control zone will give them a bit more problem. They might have to admit they have no control over them. The only unemployables who can determine their own salary and non-contributory pension. Plus redundancy package if they are voted out for being shite. Quote Link to post
Ratman2 2
The only thing ever achieved by banning something.............is nothing. Thousands of people are killed worldwide every year by traffic accidents, has anyone heard the call to ban motor vehicles.........of course not. The percentage of people killed in gun incidents in relation to people killed in road traffic accidents is miniscule, but here’s the rub, the revenue raised from gun related sports and interests is really bloody miniscule in relation to the revenue generated from motor vehicles……..so! let’s ban the gun. Sorry chaps, rant over, I’ll get my coat. Rob PS: gun crime could be eliminated IF ONLY THEY'D LOCK UP THE NUTTERS...FOR LIFE Quote Link to post
scalder 0
PS: gun crime could be eliminated IF ONLY THEY'D LOCK UP THE NUTTERS...FOR LIFE yeah thats right the idiots here give the criminals a slap on the wrist and thell them "now dont do that again" the criminals know nothing better and go back to what they were doing and them the government think ahh i know how to sort this we will hit the law abiding citizens that will sort it ,,, it must be the people with licensed firearms doing this ... COMPO 54
Very sad state of affairs and very true, very very very few legally held weapons are ever used in crime Its far easier to purchase an illegal gun to commit crime with than go to the extent of stealing a locked and secure legal weapon. Some legally held weapons are used in crime and that must be admitted by us, but that is usually after they have been illegally obtained by robbery or burglary and in comparison to the ease with which illegal weapons can be obtained fades into in-significance! Did anyone else recall the Sun newspaper article where one of their reporters drove to some eastern european country bought a pistol, put it in his car and drove back to London........He took pics of himself with the piece in the country he started then at all the borders and finally on westminster bridge!........and think of all the polish workers etc. going backwards and forwards some of them in cars! Guest JohnGalway
They don't, they just don't like guns full stop. It comes at a time when the Government can use any type of ban as a cheap PR stunt seeing as how they can't actually sort out the criminals. Quote Link to post
