Edd_Wiltshire 9
Hi Folks, Just a quick question about the Mk1 collar. Doesn’t seem to work with the batteries that I have. I have borrowed one and all i can say is that has definitely been used. Box has been bitten by a dog but looking at it inside, the electrics seem to be fine. The collar however is a bit dubious, where you unscrew it and the battery sits, there is no bit of flat metal at the end of the screw out section, so through the hole you can see the battery visible, is this correct? Or should there be a little 'coin like' bit of metal to make the connection? Any other advice would be great, spoke to a terrier man who I know and he recommends new batteries, clean all connections and prey!!! Any advice would be great. Cheers Edd Quote Link to post

Thats correct mate, you generally wrap the thing up in insulating tape before entering. Try lightly filing the small connection button that pokes out of the collar. Sometimes these get caked in crap and interrupt the connection. Quote Link to post
will.f11 24
yes mate it has a hole in the end, wrap it all over to waterproof the collar else you will bugger it up if it gets wet Quote Link to post
The one 8,494
When you take the cap off the collar mate there should be a wee bit of the connector showing get a screwdriver and give it a gentle scrape to clean it up and remove the crud Quote Link to post
donk 12
If im reading this correctly,is this the bit you mean? the dot in the middle is the battery connection. Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Thats it got to be honest though it doesn't look too bad, and if it doesn't work try taking the bits to a Maplin of something, they have tech geeks in there who may be able to fix it. Quote Link to post
