will.f11 24
I wouldnt personally feed a ferret a rat, but it is done a fair amount. I dont like the thought of it as i wouldnt fancy eating a rat myself lmao Quote Link to post
Coatesy900 0
apparently mole is one of the most disgusting tasting animals there is. most ferrets will turn their noses up at it Quote Link to post

The one 8,495
Think i will stick to rabbits for my ferrets Quote Link to post
Ossie 11
I've never fed rats or moles to my ferrets. The only thing that i own that has regularly eaten rat is my cat. I had a policy of "you kill it, you eat it" when she was living in my house. Whatever she killed would go in her food bowl, and she'd get nothing else til she'd eaten it. The only thing she wouldn't eat was shrews. My mum reckons they taste really bitter. How she knows that is anyone's guess! we've discussed the eating of moles before: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...c=23801&hl= Quote Link to post
earthpig 0
Dont feed either if you know any thing about the poisen thats put down for these pests regularly by different farmers pest control etc it can pass from one dead animal into what ever eats it be very carful if you do, try and avoid alltogether ,stick to rabbit thats been guted or dry ferret food they both cheep enough rabbit should be self soursed if you work them cut up with skins on and freeze for another day Quote Link to post

Any bromide based baits will be weakened bigtime, and coud be eaten, ( maybee with slight side effects!) But wouldn't recommend it! Edited November 23, 2008 by Brimmer Quote Link to post

Bushwacker 13
hi all just wanted to see if any one feeds there ferrets rats and moles ? i feed my ferrets rats from some gamecrop that i hunt as there is no poisens and when my friend gets them moles which they seem to like when i get them stoats and weasals so who else does ? I fed some moles to my ferrets in the summer & they got really bad flea infestations, apparently moles are plastered in them. Conditions in the ferret hutches made a perfect breeding ground. Had to treat all the ferrets with flea shampoo & spray the insides of the hutches. Quote Link to post
