Leeview 791
You are thinking of the demo in Parliament Square in Sept '04. That is the only time that there has ever been any real clash with police during any of the countryside marches or demos. Correct Missie and previously there was trouble in Parliament Sqare when the bill was introduced in the House of Commons, the mouned police were gobsmacked by the amount of people who were used to handling horses and were helpless against them. Rose tinted glasses on the Marches I never saw any trouble, Demos yes but there was a different attitude from the police on the days as though they were given a free hand Y.I.S Leeview

Guest blackntan
I know that thank you very much and my glasses have no tint either! Brighton was after Parliament Sq and I know who dropped the horses and the calves cheers!! 20 arrests at Hyde park is barely nothing, yes there may have been some trouble at each but it pales in comparison to Parliament Sq! And I know it was stared by police, I probably had a better view than most at the time seeing as I watched it all live on Sky news because I was laid up after surgery for a bust leg. Police videoing cars is something we put up with every weekend with the foxhound pack I follow, thats not trouble its just a bit of an annoyance. [/crawley and horsham by any chance missie, : You are 100% right about the Parliament Square ruck.... The ordinary Police were getting nervy,..and lashing out wildly,...I think they were scared... You couldn't blame them really,..coz for a London Bobby..it must of seemed like a scene from Zulu... Personaly,..I always felt that we would achieve nothing,..I believe that the die was already cast,.and we never really had a chance of a fair hearing,...but, I feel that we all did our best... As an aside,.I did meet IanB,...which was nice,.. And I enjoyed a bit of craic with some other Goodfellas,...and managed to get myself well pissed,..and subsequently ,...(when I encountered the Riot Police),...I also got myself well hammered.... Anyway,...next time I will be more aware.... "I thought someone said,..Come to the Disco,...not the DEMO...!"
Keeps 403
Tried to go to the one in london with my son, but couldnt make it as his boss a gamekeeper, wouldnt give him the time off but we did make it to our local one with both my kids, there was no trouble, just a lot of like minded people making their views known. I think I can spot a hippychick in that piccie too :secret:
