how many salmon and sea trout do you average a season ? and what rivers?

hold on now,are these numbers for sea-trout or salmon :o ?cus if its salmon then wtf we doin wrong over here? :blink: ..our best anglers mite get 20-40 salmon in a good year on the river nore but it has been declining in recent years.fingers crossed stocks will come back up with the end of driftneting and all the work on the spawning grounds..1000 fish tho :o:blink: thats a bag of lime and a big net job lol.

if you mean rod and line then i have only ever had 1. 7lb in weight .but if you mean any means then im up their with mac , bigest 32lb . numbers in one night 122 ,in one month over 1000 and in the 17 years i done it for i would not like to imagine ,go on call me over ,but i know and so does the lads with me and most of all so does the byers and bailifs that was around when i was doing it ,it was a long time ago ,dont think we will ever see this sort of numbers ever again .o and it was of one of the best salmon rivers in the country .where 50+ fish in a night in nets was average .

i was absolutly crap using on of those joe ,all i ever managed was to get it into was my leg ,the first time i used one ,i gave it up before i done to mutch damage to my self :) Edited by MY LAW

Yup,all a long time ago,I think I was about 13 when I started,1000 fish in a month is awesome,,y best year ever was when I was about 15 years old,I left the area a few years later,never once used lime,no need,theres actually a documented case somewhere online,I found it earlier this year somewhere of two guys working the Wear who took over 500 fish in 2 nights :blink: Hardest part of that isnt the catching,its the carrying :blink:

you can say that again ,when we found that the fish would hold up on the tidal part of the river untill a good tide would move them it was not the catching like you said it was the carrying especialy in the mud we get on this tidal part of the river ,you would lift a sack of fish and sink up to your waist ,feck me when i thik of it no wonder i was hard to catch by the authoritys when i was in my prime i was as fit as the butchers dog .
