lewismac1 1
I might sound really ignorant, but what was the reason for not bringing a camera? It was not very clear Cheers Quote Link to post

Guest w.m.avian
the sighting that have been in this country are of black panthers or black lepords you do not get black cugars mate naw ther was one a few years back seen in matlock derbyshire and a mate did lamp it with a relable witness to say the least if i had a couple of good dog i would be unshur wether to slip you think thers no way any dog can take one and kill it if i had a gun that would be another matter but a cat has teeth and claws and a big cat like that has the power to use it see all you speak of is sliping the big macho bull cross on it yet when it came down to it you have to think how much you care about your dog if you let that dog go chances are ther going to get killed or have to be pts and the only thing you got is a tail to tell like every one else out lamping up are way iv seen lynx walleby artic fox (actuly got this one mounted ) civits another sort of cat pine martings great grey owls and a few i do not know the name of but these all were ascaped animals from are local zoo that has shut but tell some one and they just say ye ye till i told them of the artic fox 2 days later dug it after puting in a set under preshuer by the lurch but i have the proof Edited November 17, 2008 by w.m.avian Quote Link to post
Malt 379
I might sound really ignorant, but what was the reason for not bringing a camera? It was not very clear Cheers Like a camera is an essential piece of lamping gear these days is it? When I go out being ferreting, shooting or with the dogs, a camera is pretty far down my list of priorities. Much rather forget the fecking camera that a knife for gutting. Not everybody feels the need to take photos of dead stuff, especially with the way things are nowadays..... Edited November 17, 2008 by maltenby Quote Link to post

McSparkie 0
A jet black Puma? Wow, didnt know you could get one of those! are you sure it wasnt a black leopard? :clapper: Personally I think there may be escaped stuff out there, but I seriously doubt that you could walk right up to one and it just ignore you and walk off. For something the size of a puma - a human would be easy prey OR a threat. Either way at the distance you suggest you were at, I would expect to be mauled at least. I'd need to see it for myself - sorry. Quote Link to post
JordKil 0
Iv seen a few in my time when out with my cousin n his doberman lol. (not lamping though) We were in the black isle shooting crows and we had to head up to the woods to dig a trench n feed the pheasants and there was a big black wild cat bout the size of a panther in front of us the dog kicked off and scared it off pretty scary like i nearly shot the thing! :L Also saw one when i was further upland in the black isle. Seemingly a travelling zoo/circus had some back in the day and they escaped n bred lol Any dog would be shredded Quote Link to post
tango 221
Where abouts in SCOTLANDslip your lurcher on a puma even two of the gamest would be in ribbons how do you no you tackled 1 before,,,well if they are there we shall have something to hunt because everything else is fecked...it's not law in this country to hunt puma for the simple reason no c**t no's their there... i cant speak for anyone else but i know i put to much into my dogs to slip at one, they are as game as the next but i still wouldnt, ive seen some dogs after a feral cat was finished, when you add the mass differance alone never mind the strength,i know which way id oplace a bet,id say they probably do exist out there as there have been a few shot over the years here so fair play anyone that sees one Quote Link to post
