ATB hope it works out for you. Quote Link to post
Willow BM2 0
I started along the same sort of lines as pip. I did an apprenticeship in Denbighshire through Sparsholt college, although i think they've stopped there apprenticeship course. Im sure Newton Rigg in Cumbria are still running one though. All the best with it. Quote Link to post

doga 50
its a great life mate and couldnt think of a better and more self rewarding job but there are restrictions as with all stock, with out going into it deeply your own time is sparce there are a few lax periods in the year but not a lot if you like your night life and socialising its maybe not for you but if your life is your work go for it. youngshot 0
www.basc.org.uk Try this website, go into "departments", then "game and gamekeeping". There is a sections link on the right hand side, click on "gamekeeping". Go to the sections link again and click "gamekeeping as a career" I hope that helps. youngshot. osimons89 0
keeper told me "a gamekeeper is a jack of all trades master of none" not sure if i 100% agree but not far from the truth. would deffently sugest doing spesific gamekeeping course the country side maagement courses i did and looked at seem to be consovation based. i then did a national award in gamekeeping at sparsholt in hapshire good course learnt alot and helped me a job but no college will make up for hands on work. But newton rigg and sparseholt are the leading colleges with the first dipolma and national dipolma. I intend to complete this course and then go into a apprenticeship. good look with the future Quote Link to post
