Sorex rat poison.

Get the blocked form and not the granulated, as it is harder for the rat to drag away which makes it safe,(It also shows how bad the infestation is)

Remember to get the sorex boxes to put the poison in, which are roughly 25 odd off ebay.

And ALWAYS WEAR PLASTIC GLOVES :good:

Good luck

Here we go again.....

OK, firstly, DO NOT attempt to treat this yourself. You could potentially make the problem worse, and all the time you have rats you are seriously compromising the health of your family. What price do you put on your health? There was a case recently of a lady who caught viles disease and died very quickly. Do not feck about with this yourself,

CALL IN A PROFESSIONAL!

Now, before all the armchair experts and wannabees out there start crying "he would say that", and "it's easy", let me tell you that most local authorities offer free, or subsidised service for rats in domestic properties.

It's not so much about what 'poison' you use, but how you use it, which leads me onto this rubbish:

Sorex rat poison.

  • 'Sorex' is a manufacturer, NOT a bait.

  • The forumulation of the bait to be used is better chosen by someone who knows what they are doing. It may be grain, or it may be blocks, or it may be a combination of the two. One thing I can guarentee is that if blocks are not secured they will be moved by rats, and could end up somewhere where non targets could have access to them.

  • The issue of boxes is an interesting one. They provide a secure place to put bait, but usually delay the uptake of bait (rats are neophobic), so they are not always the best option.

  • Gloves? Yes, if there is the slightest possibility of coming into contact with rat urine, you should wear gloves, BUT, proper hand hygiene is just as important.

In conclusion, dont try and sort this yourself. Call in a pro.

get one every day

get one "what"every day....a person asking for advise?

i know nothing on this subject, so instead of "having a go"

i thought it better to get some advise off people who do know!

it seems the answer is to call in a pro, so that is the information

i shall pass on to my mate with the rat problem.

i thought this forum was for people to share their knowledge

with the youngsters and less experienced not sarcasm :wallbash:
