MK1 locator testing

Recommended Posts

Hope someone can help.

I have been given a MK1 locator + 2 collars by a freind who has 'upgraded' to the MK3

Just fitted new batteries to collars and locator and tried it lose in the garden.

It seems OK to about 4 feet, beyond that its a job to get a beep.

Any thoughts?

Update on this!

Spoke to Deben who are as much use as holed condom!

They say cant do anything as they have no spares or facility to repair.

Finally spoke to Mick Dadd who did give some advice, so thanks to him :clapper:

Could be battery power, the box needs 'calibrating', dry joint, or good old fashioned dirt!

Have to see where it goes from here.

Will ask my electrical whizz mate again and post his findings.

If he can fix em could be the source for repairs we all need!

hi mate take the batteries out of the collar and scrape the little contact on the collar either with a knife or sandpaper could be that cheers mate DM :)

Thanks digger.

All advice gratefully received and tried!

Gonna try something other than alkaline batteries, what is best?

why not borrow a friends collar if its still the same obviously its your locator send it to mick dadd he will sort it out cheers mate DM :)

Thanks again DM.

Did speak to Mick who said if it needed calibrating he would struggle to get the parts!

I will get the spare box I have and try that, but the switch is dodgy.

May be able to make 1 from 2!

Mate who gave me it gave me 3 collars the all seem to work to 4'
