Kay 3,709
It makes me sick that in this day and age this sort of thing can be allowed to go unnoticed by the authorities. I haven't read too many details either because I can't but I did read the timeline of events recently and alarm bells should have rung long before he died. That she was arrested twice and freed without charge is dispicable bearing in mind the circumstances. Not just the authorities, its the neighbours, the parents of all concerned, the young girl who lived in the house who saw what was going on and never said a word until the baby died??? what freeking planet where they on, they must have lay in bed listening to him scream, how could they??? Isnt that what we do , not get involved , i agree i dont know how anyone could listen to the screams of a child without at least investigating it

J Darcy 5,871
I only hope that the people responsable get sacked and taken fto court for "corporate manslaughter" Technically a person died due to them not doing their job correctly. A couple of years inside clink would have the desired effect on others i should imagine.
Malt 379
Signed the petition, but can't think of anything else to write about this horrific episode...
lurchergrrl 1,441
I had several bad do's with my ex, not in front of the kids but he would come home drunk and sometimes get violent. The police were called a couple of times. The last time involved a knife, so social services were notified by the police. Social services had the nerve to decend on my home and tell me that if I were ever to let my ex back into the house and there was another incident of violence that they would take my kids away as I would be seen as irresponsible and not protecting the kids So I was his victim, and then they threatened me too. I was SO angry. Not far from me is bag head central. Druggies stood outside at all hours, kids running round barefoot, mother's pushing prams whilst drinking a can of cider at 10 in the morning ... and they have the nerve to come to my home and threaten me? Yet this poor wee lad can die a slow and painful death when everyone concerned knew what was going on. It make me positively sick. I've avoided reading the details ... I can't bear it. I've cried for him tho, poor soul. He's not hurting anymore. Surely he must know how many of us wish we could turn back the clock, take him away from that madness, cuddle him and play with him, give him good food and trips to the park and cartoons in bed with his family on Saturday mornings. RIP Baby, I hope you know peace and love wherever you are.
artic 595
This is another very sad case. Unfortunately again the "Social Services" have failed and another poor childs life slip away due to simple errrors from the "Social Services" that could of been avioded if the child was taken into care. Unexperianced staff, lazyness, lack of observations from the home visits to this little boy's home from the social workers. Smearing chocolate over the little boy's face to hide the bruising around his mouth!!! Clever mum (she thinks), very sick thinking in my eyes, not so clever social worker! Unfortunately this wont be the last death through the social services mistakes. So many people slip the net when applying for these jobs that its unbeliavable! If there is a slight danger, a suspicion of abuse, remove the child/children from the location, Welfare of the Children should be number 1. They have this power, but do not use it! Kay 3,709
Sadly it will go one way or another , a mass removal of children from there familys by social services or bugger all will change . This whistle blowing thing is a waste of time as nothing usually gets done, just swept under the carpet internally
donk 12
A very very sad and tragic thing to have happened in what we call our civilised society. What is even sadder is the fact that there are many many more cases of child abuse and suffering that never hit the press. Words fail me sometimes at the inhumanity we see in the world today. thepriest 0
There really are no words i could use to describe these people on here. All the social workers involved in this case should be suspended or fired, Its a total disgrace. Are taxes contribute to these peoples wages and they have not done thier job again. Its not the first time we have seen this. And it will happen again. As for the parents, Ferkin animals give me five minutes with them i will show them abuse
tigerdog2 8
How the hell in a so called civilised country can a young child be systematically tortured and eventually killed by a bunch of sadistic sub human morons. What the hell is happening when after 60 visits by social workers no action was taken to protect that little boy. This country is fast going down the pan, when people are too scared to report this kind of thing for fear of being racist, sexist, or actually forming an opinion, which doesnt conform to todays politically correct britain. A bloody so called saudi arabian doctor that couldnt spot a child with a broken back, social workers protecting their own arses, and meanwhile a child going through hell. My wife and daughter bursting into tears whenever the case is on the news, or in the papers. Christ what is happening. well said greengrass, its like this f..k the system thats let this poor little soul go through hell,a would pay good money to get hands on with these 3 ba....ds,but what will hapen they will get special doctors round them for all the time they are in jail ,why ?????? to find out why they did it ,what a load of crap kill the fu...kers now simple as that end of !! undisputed 1,664
If there is a slight danger, a suspicion of abuse, remove the child/children from the location, Welfare of the Children should be number 1. They have this power, but do not use it! Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. A child cannot be removed from it's parents on suspicion alone there needs to be proof. I dont know what powers people think that social workers have, they cant enforce entry or remove the child without going through the whole child protection route which can be time consuming. Dont forget trained doctors missed significant abuse to this kid, the mother lied about her partner living with her and a whole lot of other factors. It may look like I'm sticking up for those involved but I'm not hanging the monsters who did this would be to good for them. It's the whole system that needs changed from top to bottom, area team social workers are at the mercy of their directors and managers who are budget orientated and will try to avoid at all costs someone being removed from their family because of how much it costs. Social workers have significant caseloads often as much as 30 or more and if you have even 5 or 6 of them on the CP register it would take more than a week to see to it all and thats not including the ones who are not at significant risk so something has to give. It's a thankless task and the whole training process doe's not prepare social workers for the real world. Let's not forget the media frenzy as well and the part they play. The press are calling for heads to roll and I think they should but only the right one's, demonising or scapegoating people when we dont have all the facts is not the way to go.
