dont like the look of that dog mate

Now each to there own but look at it like this mate,to breed a lurcher you need 1,a running dog,or mix of said dogs, you also need a sutable x to go with it.The acd holds a lot of positive benifits for such a cross, look at the bone/compactness/strength of those front legs, the width of skull does meen a bigger brighter brain,it also holds onto a great set of jaws that hold power deseptive to their size,a totaly weather proof coat thats neither to short or to long and with good density one that would suit both rough or smooth coat fans, things you can't see are a desire to please,a natural guarding trait, the agility of almost any breed, stamina in bucket loads all held together with a good dose of drive in a almost indestructable body.Really what more could you want in a breed you are going to use in lurcher breeding?,looks arn't everything mate. ;):D .Our pups have started to get a few speckled patches on them now Wild rover,i'll let it get a bit clearer and i'll put some pics up this week.

I had a 1st cross like these a few years ago from a guy in Cleator Moor - wouldn't be you by any chance, would it?

no but it was my mate simon, i have had them ever since, was yours back out of first litter about 93 acd called murphy

Aye, Simon D****. Mine was from his second litter - 1998-ish? Drove all the way down and had great fun watching his videos of his pup from teh first litter retrieving rabbits at about 10 wks (dead of course) The pup was going well until he popped a toe quite badly and had to be retired. Strong big fecker, he hit 25". I spoke to Simon the year after at Chatsworth and he reckoned that must have been the biggest in the litter as the rest hit about 23"-ish. He was good at the rabbiting game before his accident. Tell Simon I said hello.
