spiderfly 111 Posted November 15, 2008 Report Share Posted November 15, 2008 he has a colliexhound both parents working and his nearly 7 months and he had him out with another a dog a few times to watch but now he just would even run after them he would case the rabbits he just dooesnt get it why not and what to do he has given him a few by day and will catch them but when it comes to the lamp he wont run>>>>>>>>>???? Start it next season and leave well alone for this season. i AGREE WITH WILF ON THIS!!! 7 months is no age to start a dog he shud be schooled obedient and ready for next season! have him out on a few summer rabbis if the grounds not too hard and start him in aug/sept all dogs deserve the right to mature you have a chance of blowing his lungs before theyre fully developed... a puppy is just that and deserves to be so...10-14 months depending on the dog is young enough for any lurcher to be entered!! WHAT TO DO WITH HIM You say the pups "nearly 7 months", and you're wondering what to do with him. Is it not obvious mate. I'd have thought that between you and your mate one of you would know that the pups far too young,seemingly not. Let the pup grow mentally and physically,i've seen many a dog wasted by starting them too young. Tell your mate to take a chill pill and concentrate on training the pup untill it's a bit older. Terrier man 38 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Share Posted November 16, 2008 7mths is to young kid... if you run them from a young age they ar bound to miss a few.. and tend to want to bark at the ones they cant catch when they get on a bit... a a barking lurchers as much use as a choclate fire gaurd.....
