Decided to cook up half a rabbit (back end) for the dog. placed it into the oven at 180c with 6 slices of bacon wrapped around. had the rabbit in salty water overnight, and with only one hour cooking left, i'm wondering what you guys do. I am going to feed my dog it whole once cooled, but have been thinking of drying and mixing. have anyone done this, or what is your methods

was thinking of stripping the meat and drying it then mixing, but your reply has put a question into my head. the dog hunts rabbits and has never been allowed to eat one as a reward, is this the reason you keep the head on.

Give the dog dog food! eat the rabbit and bacon your self, you cant beat rabbit Stu, "good for the gums" hope your dog appreciates it mate.

I used to feed rabbits to the dogs on an estate i used to work on.

I would gut the rabbits and chop their feet and heads off then place them in a large boiler and cook them overnight fur still on.

The next day i would take the fur and meat off the rabbits and bin the bones, i would then soak the dogs biscuits in the juice and add the meat and fur

the dogs loved it

i prefer given them cooked meat. my dog just lifted out the rabbit meat and eat it leaving all else, he is now sleeping. job done
