tristan12 0
what do you think of the film?
Neal 1,857
I spent my honeymoon in Belstone, and we saw a fox, so does that count?
Geoff.C 0
I wonder why you are asking about it? Has the film been on TV recently? I last watched it quite some years ago, I think it was in black and white? Can't fully remember the story now, but it was a nice enough film, a crafty fox and country life when Britain was still great.
dytkos 17,784
Very old film which we watched avidly up country about 30 years ago. I now live about 3/4 of an hour away from the location and have hunted with the Moorland packs around there. Nuff said!! Cheers, D.
Guest coney catcher99
i think its a good watch better than alot of shit being made now mostly pictures and music
proper job 1
The book is much better than the film, Dennis Waterman as a whipper-in never quite did it for me. The hunt followers and hounds used for the film were from The West Somerset Vale.
njc110381 0
It's an ok film. Kind of sad really though so I didn't like it that much. I have it on video somewhere.
mouse 282
brilliant film and book.
Guest foxyjo.
I love it! I had it on DVD and lent it to someone who never returned it... Lovely, sad, funny, bit sentimental but coming from me....that might be a tad hypocritical!!!! I'm happy to watch anything about hunting that isn't widely anti though... waz77 15
I liked the film but was a poor portrayal of terrier work
thepriest 0
I can remember bits of it, The bit that sticks in my mind was the hounds getting mashed by the train. Crafty little ferker. I much prefer Tarka the otter, Pukka film Edited November 17, 2008 by thepriest
Aaron 3
im with waz, a good film but it doesnt put a good light on terrierwork! Aaron
Neal 1,857
Tarka the Otter is based in the same area; in fact there's a few lines from the book carved into a bridge a short walk between Belstone and Sticklepath. Beautiful spot!
The one 8,463
That's a real oldie a blast from the past like tarka the otter and ring of bright water good in there time but dated nowdays
