mikecat1 0
a few weeks back i bought a lurcher bitch off here that was ment to be 110% spot on !! at first she wouldnt come back but some work as gone into her with the help of labsandlurchers. shes come on so well, if i want to be picky just a bit before shes a real good bitch. 3 of us went out last night and even though it was a bit light she ran her legs off, went out at 9 and got back in at 4am she was buggered. as she is getting fitter shes getting faster and goes like a rocket but know im finding shes to fast for the mountain hills !!! i just cant win lol she ran one rabbit down a v steep hill so fast that when she grab it they both rolled 3-4 times down and then the rabbit hit the bush and ran. i found this even when she ran with another dog, always miles ahead but to fast and missing them on the stike. this could still be were shes not fit enough but realy showing a speedy little bich shes a grayhoundxwhippet grayhoundxsaluki about 23 tts. im looking and thinking shes more of a flat/hill type not the mountain rough and ready type we need up here so fingers crossed. shes on the right, this was the first day i had her. unfit Edited November 14, 2008 by mikecat1 Quote Link to post
Guest little lurcher
nice to hear your experiences though she seems like she will be a valued mmber of your team with time , i have a saluki x here and she is tbh cruel when running long ears , its like she plays cat and mouse!!! thats no good to me , but again with time and experience on her side she will come right , far too easy just to give up , bunnys she is striking fine??? very game too , when we rehome or buy in other dogs we take on any mistakes or faults someone else has put in and its hard work but refreshing to see someone else prepared to put in the work , well done and keep trying Quote Link to post

With more work and practice she will come into her own just keep at it till she finds her lamping feet.... Quote Link to post
artic 595
I'd take the dog out at shorter times till she is fit enough to lamp from 9pm to 4am. Thats some going, and i asume a lot of slips. Well done. Quote Link to post
mikecat1 0
cheers boys she didnt run every slip we had 2 young dogs and another older dog with us so they all had there share. even at the end though if another dog was slipped and not mine she was still bouncing lol Quote Link to post
