Jesus i never thought this thread would take off like this i thought it was just around us people have been seeing BIG CATS never knew it was all over the country. I think we should start a thread on WHO HAS SEEN A GHOST. See how that takes off. I saw one when i was 2 years old in HAgworthingham pub i just thought it was a person and stood talking to it untill my mum wondered who i was talking to but she could nt see it. Spooky

we battologised over this loads of times Simo so show me the most current definitive pic of a puma, cougar,or leopard taken in the british countryside please :victory:

Mack, I don't think we have battled, you have your opinion and mine is different, thats all. There is not concrete proof of any recent captures, my point is, and always has been that there have been cats in the past and the odd release may happen. All I can say is ten years ago I know what I saw and nothing will ever change my mind. Unfortunately there are far too many fruitcakes out there who give the impression that anyone who believes in this possibilty is 50 years old and stiill live at home with mummy............. ;)

I dont deny what you think you saw

Ouch :D Dawn, my eyesight is fine and i'm not prone to excitability so I'll still trust my mind and eyesight :D

but there isnt anyone else including yourself that have any conclusive evidenc eto the contrary, is there?

Proof from the past IS there with the corpses or swamp cats, a puma, leopard cat and lynx. This is PROOF, it is in the past but its there. Currently there has been nothing. Trouble is you are fixed in your opinion and I in mine so all we can agree is to disagree ;)

There is nothing more I would like than for proof to be showed to me, and all the other people who are sceptical. I love Cats, Ive just booked a photography day with them at just under £100, I REALLY would like for them to be "out there." Problem is nobody can provide that proof and Mackem is right, just because somebody tells you its true, is it always?

Im sure the parents of a child killed by one wouldnt want them out there. Its about as plauasible as the loch ness monster

Its feck all like the lochness monster!!!! This thing doesnt live anywhere in the world!! Its a mith!! A puma, lepard, cougar etc, arent miths, and do live all over the world!!!

I have watched the big cat series on BBC1, and main thing about it is what the cats eat and when

they eat to survive. Now a big cat would not just kill rabbits , it would need larger game, so you would

say it would go for deer. Well from watching the progamme, the kills on large game were from 3 from 10 on average.? Now with all the livestock [ sheep+cattle] out there, you would think they go

for easy kills.?? Yet you never here farmers , say they loose regualarly stock from big cats, and

a cat kill is differnt from a dog or wolf kill, always a neck hold+ sufocation. If they were out there

the farmers should show us the evidence of there survival.??

Like Mackem said this thread has been done several times, and your entitled too believe or not. I haven't seen anything but I do know its not dogs, badgers, rats, mice or wasps !!

I,ve lost seven too date not including five lambs that might or might not have been. Whatever it is can skin a sheep and take around 45kgs off meat in one sitting, does it very quietly night or day within a 100yds off the house, can fit a sheeps head in its mouth and has canines 60-80mm apart. And always within 15yds of the stream.

Fascinating subject, though I think and gets people going.

Its a fun subject macberran, people either believe or they dont, two stances and no wavering on that shaky fence that divides the twain :) "Fortean times" do roadshows, held in Earls Court and similar places, the last one I attended the census of opinion was the ABC's were coming through a portal from another dimension, thats explaining why they appear at random all over the country  That was the last Roadshow I ever attended and cancelled my subscription when it was due for renewal :clapper:

I am fixed untill I see otherwise, you are fixed in yours because you say you HAVE seen otherwise, I can live with that. :)

I am entitled to share my opinion with whom I care, if you dont like it, then thats not my problem. Fact remains, I do not at all whatsoever believe there are Big Cats living in the British Countryside. Im not about to put it in a way that may sound pink and fluffy in an attempt to appease some members. I have not beeen rude, abusive and am certainly not not wanting to cause an argument.

I have on several occasions said that there have been animals released in the past and that these are those bodies that have been seen, captured, shot etc. I have seen nothing to suggest that there is any hee now, but I would LOVE to be proved wrong, seriously I really would.
