scouse moocher 0
Just wondering how many of you lads work the shorter legged type of Jack? i.e 8 - 10 '' high .. I've seen many keen ratters of this type but wondering wether anyone works them to ground, If so throw some pics up of your dogs. Ant Quote Link to post
ferreterni 29
I use one for ferreting and bushing. Though she don't like the long long grass especially when wet. would love to work her to ground but need to find a local terrier man who wants an apprentice. She happy enough to enter holes for dummys etc and due to small size can get into smaller holes that some larger dogs mayfind a squeeze. She is game enough but wouldn't be to sure that she would fare ok against a big dog fox. But hopefully will find out one day. Quote Link to post

smasher 1,055
It would seem to me for some reason or another these little bow legged russells are becoming less popular and harder to come by now, working ones that is,probably because of the popularity of the blacks, and a lot of people seem to have written them off. Some very good strains of these little warriors have dwindled off or died out altogether.Shame really as a good one is hard bet in my opinion.also i think the shows have a lot to answer for Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
dont know how true it is but breeding the smaller type of russels regularly is harder then breeding a strain or type of leggy ones? Quote Link to post
