dytkos 17,818
Due to unforeseen circumstances I had a free morning yesterday so decided to have a couple of hours out with the ferrets. Weather was kind which was good as I was doing a few Cornish hedges which I couldn't dig in the event of a lie up. First banking about a dozen nets down and a couple of nice handy bolts. Moved down the bank and a single followed by one immediately afterwards from the same hole which eluded the dog and went into the previously worked bury. I decided to let this one have his day and moved on. I had purposedly not brought too many nets as I didn't want to get too involved as I had to be back home by 12 o'clock so when I had all 20 nets down I put in my best ferret, a 3 year old castrated hob who shows at pretty much every hole as he work the banking and I had another 3 by 11' o'clock. Carry everything back to the motor, couple of pics, gut the bunnies, drop a couple off at the farmhouse and home before 12 to put the nets and stuff away. Beats work any day. Cheers, D. will.f11 24
thats the kind of setts i like nice and easy your a lucky man to have permission like that its weird down here, if you are inland, all the hedges are pretty horrible and covered in brambles and near as dammit impossible to net, but the minute you walk onto the moor, its lovely drystone hedges, banks and ground sets. I put a thread up of me out and behind me is a bank, and is probably the most covered bank i ferret on the moor. Its weird lmao Quote Link to post
