I have just had them come round and check me for my 22 rimfire. He asked to see my cabinet again and to see if i have a seperate lockable compartment for ammo he also wanted to check the serial numbers on my shotguns for some reason. He also just asked me about the land im shooting on but to be fair he was proper sounds and we just ended up talking about farming lol

they ask for a bj too , nah in all seriousness there nothing too worry about , jsut be calm. When i was questioned he jsut asked abit more in too why i required the caliber i applied for asked for more info on the land i was shooting on. basic firearm safety etc. and he also wanted to be shown the the gun cabinet and storage for ammunition aswell. that was just for the .22 and 17hmr , when i sent in my variation for a centrefire he didnt ask me anything seem to think i was safe enough and all the info i had previoulsy given was sound enough. No worries mate youl do fine.

stay calm and make him see you no about the rifle you have gone for. a good think is to print a map off of your ground if there is any foot paths on it. that way you can show him you no where they are and it shows him you are on the side of safety by knowing the lay out of your ground

I told mine that I knew the land reasonably well but that I was going to be walking it all with the various landowners before I took a gun out so that I knew exactly what was and wasn't safe.

She seemed to like that.

It really is nothing to worry about - if anything, I felt like I was the one driving the conversation and if I didn't have loads of questions she would have been gone after ten minutes!

Just be yourself. He should check all windows, locks and keys, doors too.

He might ask you to have the cabinet bolted in a more safer place.

The crime rate has risen where burglarys have taken place and the whole cabinets ripped off the walls and taken.

He will ask you questions about your rifle, the land, ammo, and also the distance you will be shooting your rabbits!

FLO's do a very good job!

Good Luck.

Cool ....Just be yourself,, he may wel ask to check security of doors and windows,,(mine did),, I also print off my permissions with google earth, with all boundries marked off and pubic footpaths also marked, this he LOVED and he expressed that "he wishes everyone would do the same"..

The Google Earth pics are very handy, you can put loads of info on them, such as wind directions hot spots in different weather conditions, flight paths etc, etc.

I`m hoping that this will be of benifit when I decide to apply for an "Open Ticket" you never know... :D
