OUT TODAY

Recommended Posts

Decided to go today as the forecast was decent, arrived at the bottom quarry just after 9am bright sky,no wind. The missus was my helping hand today as i had brought my quickset with me to give it a try on the flatter parts of the quarry banks & bottom. There had been a lot of rain up there as the ponds were overflowing & the ground was a quagmire.

Arrived at the first two sets 13 & 7 holer, netted up both & rang the longnet along the bottom of the 13 holer, put the hob & small jill in,nothing at home but still good training for them.

Did a couple of 3-5 holers no one at home, netted up a 2 holer put the hob in,he came straight back out so i put the adult jill in,thud, thud rabbit at home but it would'nt bolt after 10 mins i put the hob in to get it moving. After a lot of sreaming & scuffling around it went quiet, out with the MK3 showing a 5ft dig :o after a few mins they both came out :clapper: the jill with a small scratch above her eye.

We then netted up a 12 plus holer on the quarry bottom & i ran the longnet around it,getting in a bit of a tangle with the dying thistles :realmad: We had a bite to eat & put the 3 ferts in,result 2 in the net :good:.Ended the day happy but the mixy has took a heavy toll in the bottom quarry but still plenty around on my other ground :) .
