heard they have one set of legs shorter than the others,so they can stand on the side of mountains!

Some years ago when I was working up in Elgin, an old guy told me just that! He also said that you catch them by placing a long net around the base of the hill and chase them with sticks till you get them running then you stop and turn round to run at them as they come around the hill at you, they then try and turn around to run away but because one leg is shorter than the other they roll down into the net...hey presto!

LMAO did you believe him

Turn it in Scothunter ! I'll tell you what though, we had some belting nights sat at the bar in the St Leonards Hotel, How this old lad kept a straight face I'll never know but some of the stories were brilliant. I was promised some good roe stalking and wildfowling but I got made redundant and have never returned to take them up on the offer and never got to see how to get a salmon from the river at the back of Johnstons mill and without a rod too, heaven forbid! Still I'm not dead yet so you never know.

regards,

Pete

Get one that's been caught by McSweens. They taste the best!

DO NOT BOIL your haggis! That's for the Sasenachs!

Make a foil envelope for the wee beastie and include a healthy dram before folding in the last corner.

Stick it in an oven for the time recommended (probably found on a tag attached to a toe of the beast by the butcher).

Mashed neeps and tatties are obligatory.

Psst - try Waitrose or Sainsbury if you are south of the border.
