Hi all

My son has got his FAC, he is 16 years old and he has 3 types of gun on his licence that he is able to use. He doesn't own any guns himself he just uses mine, does anyone know if my guns need to be written on his licence

Also the ammo that we use is mine, does anyone know if the ammo that i give him needs to be writen on his licence as he is not allowed to buy the ammo himself. I have asked in the local gunshop and no-one seems to know.

Firearms and Ammuntions can only be given as a gift if the certificate holder is under the age of 18, and i think they also have to be supervised when using them , some of the the other forum members wil have a better idea of firearms law not 100% sure of where the guns are to be written down, should be ok if you write for example maker cz caliber 22rf then the box of how you have acquired the rifle couldd say borrowed. then send away both of your certs they will see he is using your rifles ???? not sure about it realy call your firearms licencing department theyl have the answers

A little more info needed I think.

Are the guns shared between the two of you? Officially I mean?

If your son is using your ammunition, then it has to be entered on his ticket, as I recently specifically found out. Best thing I would say is to buy enough ammo for the two of you, split it and enter the amount and calibre on his FAC.

You need to be 17 before you can buy Guns and Ammunition.

Curiosity? What guns are they?
