if the pup is allowed to play in the kennels during the day he will associate the kennel with fun,or kennel him for short periods, then gradually increase the periods until he is happy enough ny himself, the problems usually begin when left all night alone,it's down to the pup feeling secure, you will have to let it whine and ignore him the first night, after this they will give up,but you shouldn't go rushing to him when they are whining, wait till they have stopped for a while or they will always whine to get you to let them out, hope this helps,

Higgins.

iv just got a 10 week pup thats sharing with my terrier in kennel,iv just put loads of straw in and a dog pillow and blanket.there clever enough to get under the blanket if need be!she whined for alot of the 1st night but you have to try and ignor them.if still doing it on the 3rd night then go out and bang a rolled up newspaper on the cage and tell it to shut up firmley.but if there ignored for a couple of nights they tend to get the idea.there like babys if they cry and you always pick them up,they know to cry to be picked up all the time.if you go out everytime it whines, itl whine for you to come out to it.just tire it out with a good wlk and fill it up with agood tea and itl sleep through.try and stick to the same routine every night.they soon learn!
