Meerihunter 7
White dogs compared to black Nothing in it as far as I'm concerned. One thing I will say is if you are somewhere you shouldn't be doing something you should the white dogs stand out alot but the so do black dogs. I never do anything illegal so I don't worry about it Edited November 12, 2008 by Meerihunter Quote Link to post
Guest Chip
The only problem with white dogs is the blood shows up terrible when they have killed something! yep, i did feel exposed with this lad at times you couldnt lose him in the day i didnt feel the colour affected catch rate at all but if i could choose the colour in a dog it would be brindle or red. bird 9,916
everyone is talking about lamping.but what about daytime mooching etc? i've never had a dog that was mainly white but my mate has one and its always the first dog that you spot. .as i said in my first post, its not the quarry that you should worry about seeing you! Spot on, white dog no prob in the lamp, daytime if its hot ground , they do stand out a bit. But a good dog, is a good dog, it dont matter the colour. but with this feckin ban, i would go for a darker colour.?? Quote Link to post

dytkos 17,800
Nightime it's easy. Daytime I find it easier to spot a white dog in the field at a distance. Unless it's in a field full of sheep or foxhounds! Cheers, D. Quote Link to post
bodz 0
it dont mater about the colour just cos its bright dnt mater fink of the brightnes of the lamps Quote Link to post
adrianvygus 0
Ok guys what are your opinions? I was told not to get a white lurcher because when working would scare off all the prey The person that told me this used to have a white lurcher and said he dies its hair brown because it scared everything off What are you guys opinions/ Experiences? Thanks I had a white heinz's that I got from Battersea DH he was white with a brown patch over one eye. He was a great marker caught a couple of bolters, in the snow he was great, speed doesn't matter so much. I had two pale fawn Lurchers mother and son I don't think the Rabbits they caught noticed the colour. My current killing machine has a white blaze down her chest as does my new pup, colour don't matter when yer being chased down by a fourty mile an hour predator! keep the faith Quote Link to post

bodz 0
I bred a litter of lurcher pups and a fella came to look at a dog pup that was black and white, he drove 128 miles got here to see it and said it's got a lot of white on it, I said it's black and white, he said it was more like white and black and that it was no good as he wanted it for lamping, and he went to a few dodgy places, and he didn't want anyone seeing the dog as white dogs stand out more, so I asked him what sort of lamp he had, he said he didn't know the make but it was 2million candle power with a thousand metre beam. honest to god i think my sides are gonns split with this thread!!!!!black and white or white an black??? wat you reckon pal?p\8 p\8tht a nice a 1 mate Quote Link to post
