Guest Countryboyo
I guess she has "yaped" at even more, but 150 + has been shot for here Fair enough! That explains why my neighbours fox terrier was well able to yap away at my russel at his distance but when he got a nip he didnt know how to take it. Still you cant complain with 150, but the dog wouldnt want to get cornered id say. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Nice pictures Foxterrier. It's always nice to see quarry worked from other parts of the world, thanks for sharing. Its illegal to hunt badgers for some reason I dont know because there every where. there are baying dogs over here too. When you say "I know about one female fox terrier that has about 150 badgers on here reputation" do you mean that the dog has gone to ground and yap'd at 150 badgers? You should do a bit of research seeing as you claim in another thread that your 'thinking of taking up digging.' You seem to believe that any earth dog worth its salt, needs to be a hard mouthed killing machine. You'd be surprised at how much call there is for good baying terriers out there, once you get out away from the PC and into the real world of working terriers. Quote Link to post

Ah no I have nothing against bayers and bolters and bolting 150 badgers is some going. I was just making the point that they are not hard dogs that take stick but ive no problem with them if they do a job for lads. and your right I do need to go out and get away from the feckin computer. must get on to a lad about a locator. Each to their own. Ive nothing against fox terriers I was just making the point that they are usually baying dogs. ive nothing against that im not trying to put down the breed. do you think many people would say no to that fox terrier that bolted 500 as well as badgers. I doubt it! If they do the job thats fine but id say there rare enough these days over here. I know of one lad that uses one to flush to greys but thats it. Any more photos? Quote Link to post

elma thud 0
I cant see how those fox terriers with their pokey pointy heads would be any good on a badger. I have came across fox terriers and they are all mouth yapping away. I used to walk past one every day with my JRT and the fox terrier would yap yap yap while my jrt ignored him but one day he got too close and when my dog caught a hold of him he took off down the road screeching. There are probably a few good ones but if you compare them to a pat for example the pats chest isnt as deep he has a wider jaw and better back. And as for staffy crosses, you only ever realy see a pat with a small bit of staffy blood in them. maybe 1/4. And whats wrong with crossing breeds and creating your own line. Most lads on here arent into crufts. what the feck do you know about working dogs to ground the other day you were begging people to take you out digging now your an expert on terriers Quote Link to post
