Some stories from an ex-army dog handler.

Best you sit down and get yourself comfy.

There are pages of them, but I guarantee you will cry with laughter at them.

Here

Joe,

I spent 4 years in the TA as a Paratrooper.

It was weekends and a night during the week, but we did all the stuff that the regs did Berret Cadre (confidence test, assault course, pole race, bla, bla), the training and jumps to get your Wings. Then endless nights skulking around the countryside in the pissing rain, trying to map read and find another squad in the middle of nowhere, then pretend to shoot them all.

Seriously, it's a great thing to do and I would recommend it to anyone. TA is better than Reg IMHO as they don't beast you quite as badly.

The only buzz I've had that comes close to stepping out the door at 800 ft up doing about 180 mph is racing a big motorbike round a racetrack at stupid speeds (it's close, but still not as good).

It teaches you a lot about yourself and about who your mates are.
