Hey everybody hows it goin . Ive had some experience with snares. The only thing is I dont have a spot to rig a sapling into a spring pole.I mean i want to just set up some rat snares around my house just to see if I can get anything Ive been in an out of the forums for a while and PeaandGun seems like the guy to ask. So PeaandGun. How do I set up a spring snare with no saplings around and how do I get rats.

I am not a rat trapper, but I do know that you can cut a "wip" for a spring snare and bring it to the snare site. Just sharpen the thick end and push it into the ground (or tie it to something).

 

You could also use a spring or a bit of inner tube.... or if you could get it operating fast enough, you could use a weight on a string that passes over a branch or some sort of a pulley.

Is there a site that could explain it better. BTW I set up a snare today a rolling snare. I took it down though since Im going on vacation. But it woulda got something.
