i was out one day hunting foxes with my beagles when a police woman turned up,sheasked what i was doing so i told her i was fox hunting.she then said i was breaking the law,so i told her i could legally hunt a fox as long as it was not with more than 2 dogs i then told her i could hunt foxes with 2 dogs and excercise 52 if i liked, but she then phoned 3 different police arseholes, and the last one told her i was right the other 2 didnt have a clue.she then asked me too why dont i move on and i told her i will when i have finished which she didnt like very much then off she went.

Its a crazy world, i was once detained in a police car and my details checked after myself and some mates were reported for hare coursing, it took a full riot van, the chopper, two panda cars and a dog van..........the funniest thing is we were on a public footpath on land we had permission to train on and the super duper coursing dogs we had with us were German Shepherds, collies and a collie/shepherd cross. The person who reported us should have been done for wasting police time and resources, I dread to think how much that little army would have cost to be deployed???????

Did you get any hare's with the shepards then? :D

It is bonkers how so many resources can be called out for things as simple as that, surely there are better things for you and the police to be doing, I think a stern warning would make people think twice about getting there facts straight before ringing the police up, fair enough you see a person in your neighbours back yard, then fair enough call them up straight away, he could be a theif, but out in the fields with no firm evidence it's a different game.

Any false call to the 999 services warrants prosecution dose'nt it?

Depends what you mean,

Hoax calls? I mean! :(

You do lead a colorful life mackem :icon_eek: Your story kind of illustrates the point I am trying to get over: ask any criminal law barrister, and probably even a good many judges - people go to prison everyday for things they haven' t done. This happens because the legal system is imperfect. With regard to hunting, simply by being out there, we are exposed to risk of malicious or unfair treatment or prosecution because the hunting act can be so broadly interpreted by the police, who tend to assume guilt. It' s not fair and it' s not right. But that doesn' t mean you shouldn' t arm yourself in advance of the worst happening by being aware of how the law works, and having a contingency plan in place, in case you do get collared.

Not worth them sending out officers to arrest Hoax callers, just tell them not to do it again. If they call in a Hoax like a Hoax Bomb threat then things change obviously

"Mac" i have a varied amount of Avatars... Wait and see the next one! ;) Does it confuse people? I mean does an "Avatar" really describe that certain person? :hmm:

Anyway, Mac your poetry doesn't confuse the clever minded person! Come on Mac not all "Coppers" are Bad! Maybe not as experianced as the next one! ;)

My poetry?I never set out to confuse people but the majority of plod its been my misfortune to run into in everyday life seem to be on ego-fuelled power trips, maybe away from the job,out of uniform they might be different,I wouldnt know,I dont associate with them :victory:
