longrange 0
im sure, dekers not for me, could spend his whole life shooting around malborough, and never see, a high phesant? if he ever got to see the birds shown, the likes of molton, shargot, dulverton, castle hill, some of the shoots, in wales, and, also, some of the valley shoots in scotland, although not for him!, he might find himself reaching for one of his rifles? speaking of which reminds me, of an extract taken from the great shots! concerning challenging shooting? walter willans, an american, remarked to his host, when shooting driven grouse, for the first time!in the early years, that he had not shot very well in the first drive? having only killed 15 birds! until they realised he was shooting with a small bore RIFLE !? just wonder what the beaters must have thought personaly, i would shoot anything, anywhere, anytime, Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Sorry your post doesn't make any sense, could you please explain? Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
It doesn't make any sense to me either...I have already made it clear this sort of shooting does not appeal to me, but I have gone to pains to point out I have no problem with anyone who does it and enjoys it, and I have not criticised anyone (well ...perhaps just that P***k who needed someone to load his gun)... I have several shotguns...only the 3 now, having just sold one ...all Berettas and I use them as required for all sorts including the NCSC!! ...and as it happens at the Marlborough shoot I could have out shot EVERYONE there with the shotgun (Except my pal Phil the owner...who wasn't shooting)...I had a very enjoyable day, as I have also said, so I am at a bit of a loss to understand this one!!! Edit PS there were next to no high birds, it was all we could do to get them off the ground, and there were several times I wished I had the rifle...especially when the Roe doe came charging out of the woods and ran right through the line.....etiquette though!!!
