graham01 1 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Share Posted November 11, 2008 Not looking to get into a row but sorry, I still say a kestral. Why? Having a kestral is learning all about wieght. Yes you don't have as much to play with as you do with a harris but that is what flying BOP is all about. Wieghing your bird ,knowing its wieght. To me, unless you have trained a small bird the size of a kestrel you should not own a harris or a redtail. That is why there are so many BOP out there F.. ed up I cant argue with you because my first bird was a kestrel and it was fab, i caught a few various small birds too,but.. out of four friends (three older than me and i was 11or 12) two were killed due to poor management, one flew away because it was over weight,only mine lasted and lived till it was hacked back.I did have a very experienced falconer to call on(not that he liked giving out advice exept"thats shit get a Gos")though but i did take to it quickl.
