s410 questions

Recommended Posts

hi

i just put a full fill in my s410k then put the crono on it, the first 10 or so shots were in the mid to high 10 lbs then they increased up to about 11.6 lbs is this normal. In the future would it help if i just filled it to say 170bar.

thanks and great site by the way

Yeah my .22cal S410K seems to be best between 'bout 70 and 170 bar with Logun Penatrators trough it.

Hi buzzy S410,

Yes, this is normal mate - nowt to worry about at all.

With reference to the filling of your reservoir, I would avise you to try filling to 180 Bar, as a maximum point. You will find this is right and will put you at roughly the top end of your 'sweet spot', and then you can simply count down the shots you fire (as i do) and re-fill at a specific shot count (usually after about 70-80 shots for me with my .177 S310) and that will serve you well for the future mate. Just be sure and re-fill to 180 Bar and you will be fine.

Hope this helps you?

Grim.

if the gun's power is going up and down it maybe the seal's either stretching or tightening

Not necessarily - you will find that the most popular reason for the power starting at a lowish point and then going up a pound or so is that, when filled to 190 Bar, the pressure (from the air reservoir) against the top hat when the trigger is pulled does not actually allow the top hat to stay open long enough to let the required amount of air pass by it to perfect the shot.

On the other hand, if the rifle was filled to 180 Bar, the pressure (from the reservoir) against the top hat is just low enough to let the top hat stay open for that milisecond longer - thereby permitting the metered/full amount of air pass by, and this in turn gives you a perfect air pressure for the shot to take place (this is talking in terms of consistency, mind).

This has been the findings of most people who have a PCP rifle, and also benefits us owners because (at least with the AA S300, S310, S400, and S410 ranges anyway) it also puts the rifle at roughly (well, almost bang on, actually) the upper end of the 'sweet spot', which means that from that point onwards (to the end of your shot count) your shots will be that much more consistant overall.

I hope this helps you all? :)

Grim.
