Went for a walk down our local woods today and came across two den or set entrances. One of them must be fresh because the sand looks like it has just been escavated, which was the reason I noticed.

I've walked through this wood loads of times and never seen this entranced, I went for a closer look and noticed the other hole across the stream. I took some pics of the holes, a few foot prints I found and some poo.

Have a look and tell me what animal lives there, I wouldn't mind getting some good wildlife photography done during the spring, these holes will be perfect to aim the lense at.

Just got back, the little bitch nailed a squirrel whilst we were out and it looks like she took a bite to her nose.

Do I need to take any precautions with a squirrel bite?

I know I aint broken the law with the dog killing the squirrel because we were just out walking in a public wood, but was it illegal to take home the grey squirrel?

It would have been illegal to kill the squirrel if it wasn't an accident mate, what did you take it home for anyway

Has anyone ever seen a set without a latrine? Possibly only been living in it for a few weeks, converted fox earth. Don't really lknow anything about them as we haven't got them round here ;)

Cheers, gnipper

Id say both Badger and Fox, quite common at the same area. :D

i'd agree with that seen foxes using parts of badgers setts as breeding earths. try squeeking down wind, from 50yds at dusk, when fox cubs are old enouth to gamble about i've had em come right to my feet.
