IanB 0
After some of the recent negetivity on some threads lets try and turn it into something positive. I hope we can all agree that there is good and bad in all crosses and that they all have their flaws. What i9 am going to propose with a bit of luck will bring genuine like minded folk together from all corners of Britain, it will also give people the chance to see different types of lurchers work on the lamp and their running styles. It will also show how we all have different ways of lamping, we are all induviduals as are our dogs, for me there are no right or wrong ways so long as you attain the objective ie catching your quarry and dispatching it quickly and humanely. What iam proposing is a lamping competition open to all so long as you are genuine and can be gracious in defeat if so be it and you can shake your opponents hand and can say honestly WELL DONE the best team on the night won. The competition is open to all with a fifty pounds entry fee pre paid before comp starts. to be run as a knock out winner going back into the hat. if there is a lot of interest it might be a good idea to have regional heats til it gets the numbers down a little to save on travel ie south , midlands , north and scotland. if there is to many wanting to run maybe even regional heats to start ie south east , south west , wales , midlands , north west , north east , scotland ect. Trophy or shield for winner plus presentation jacket all monies left winner takes all. We could supply some of the land for a heat and maybe a final would help if others could also. If you have to go freehand so be it , whoever has most rabbits from equal alternate solo slips when landowner or police stop proceedings goes through to next round.Like i said no messers , bullshiters or anyone who will kick up a fuss when beat genuine lads and lasses only. It is not a field trial taking into consideration jumping ability retreiving ect but if coming to our permission your dog MUST BE STOCKBROKEN 110 PER CENT.This comp like it or not is a numbers game both parties getting equal amount of runs solo over a set given time. The owner of the dog lamps in turn , this will cut down on any excuses if his or her dog misses ie he is lamping he is slipping. We could maybe also have 1 or 2 middle parties there acting as stewards so there is no excuses from beaten parties.I am sure a competition of this sort can be achieved no need to worry about it just yet it can be organised in sep to commence in oct. Would appreciate some feed back from genuine honest people with an interest in a comp of this kind. What i dont want is negativity saying it cant or wont happen as these would most probably be the same people who could not take defeat graciously. If the rabbit comp goes smooth we could maybe try a one for bigger rabbits running the dogs solo and alternating slips. Welcome aboard
