Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
My grandma's brother was the Padre at Port Stanley during the Falklands War, as kids we used to try get our Grandad to talk about his adventures, nan was a land army gir for a while. The thing is now most of the kids grow up with no one who has ever had to get off their backsides & fight for what we take for granted. We grew up with grandparents who'd fought for us & had a damn sight more respect for our pensioners. I'm not saying all kids are bad but every week you read of gravestones been damaged. There's one in my local cemetry that says 'In honour of our son who fell in the hands of the japanese'. He was 21- older than a lot but still younger than many today who wont work never mind fight for their country. We should never forget - the families of all the soldiers killed in action never will.
