you got to pay a fair bit for a good springer as an average one i dont think is very good in my opinion...

go for a pcp rifle mate and over time get yourself a bottle..

ive had springs and pcps and dont think i will ever look back.

all the best

bsa ultras are good.

webley raiders are good

or the s400 are going around the 300 mark

If you ask me, I reckon you would be just as well off getting an AA S410, and getting a diver's bottle as well - one of the small 300 Bar ones is way good enough for the job in hand.

All the best in your thinkings Shooter 08 mate,

Grim.

Hiya Shooter08,

I've got one in .22 maybe two years ago and to be honest, I love it!

On the up side, It's one of the cheapest and lightest PCP's on the market and is extremely accurate (as all PCP's are to be honest) and as yet I haven't even had a minor problem with it. With the Weirach silencer fitted it's very quite indeed, (although I guess the more expensive guns might be quieter?) and I believe it won "Gun of the Year" in 2004 and 2005 (I thinks the S410 that has won it in subsequent years)

On the down side though, once I spent a few month's with it, I slightly regretted not paying extra for a multishot PCP and with Roost shooting coming close, I then bought the 10 shot manual magazine for it, which I've had nothing but trouble with. (other guys on here have bought the same Magazine and found it was great, so probably just mine??)

I looked at the S400 (virtually the same gun as the S410, just single shot and cheaper) in a gunshop but found it far to small and fiddly and WAY to over priced for a single shot PCP.

I picked up the Logun Solo, swivel set, decent canvas sling, 1000 pellets and a Hills pump for £415! it would of cost me more than that just for the S400 on it's own!

Although I never had any troubles with the barrel (and it was knocked a few times) I did buy and fit the barrel band just in case.

Have you thought of second hand? might be your best bet for £300?, Sales and Wants on here or Airgunbbs quite often has some bargains posted.

Best advice I could give you would be to go to a gunshop with the decent variety of airguns first and just handle a few! see what you like/dislike. Go with an idea of what type you want .177/.22, single/multi shot etc, it will help the staff to help you. If their too expensive just say "thank you, I'll have to think about it" then check out the net for the gun you liked.

Hope this helps you a bit,

Cheers

Luke.

Nice one, just need someway to fill it now! Scuba tank/buddy bottles are the easiest way but it depends if you have a Dive shop nearby to fill it for you? (thats the reason I opted for a Stirrup Pump instead)

Try www.uttings.com for the Mag, they have them for £59 but I'm sure with a bit of searching you could find it cheaper than that.

Cheers and good luck with your Purchase.

Luke.
