IanB 0
Just had the dogs for a quick walk down the local beck, the border picked up a scent and ran along a bankside to a two holer and started digging away followed by the two lurchers, jack the old coliie x jumped the beck and sat opposite side to view the full bankside, he just does it instinctively through experience....the becks been swollen high with the snow and rain and the rats have been in the higher sets and debris/branches...I grabbed a stick and started probeing the hole  couple of minutes later he decide to bolt....these beck rats normally make there escape in the murky water, the collie x sometimes sights them.... but he didn't this time....the border got his first ever hes seen in the water and with his kamikaze dive from the bankside bagged it...the saluki x joining in and eating its bonce  .....strolled along back home and heard a squeal, turned back only to see the borders arse hanging out of a tree and another dead rodent tumbling down the mud.... good fun... hadn't been ratting much this year..but I might just have a better play tommorrow with the ferrets...now the becks in flood
