labsnlurchers 39
put her on long lead, encourage the retrieve by gently tugging the lead, start close then gradually make the distance longer. Avoid lots and lots of praise, dont get her excited just a gentle pat and 'goodgirl' and maybe a small treat. The alleway suggestion is the best place to start, then she cant run round you and tie you in knots! Also dont go mad with it, her attention will waver so 1/2 times not nessecarily everyday, maybe 2/3 times a week. As she gets older you can increase it but alwasys make sur you dont do it too often, you dont want to bore the dog x Quote Link to post
