smudge1901 1
I have to admit that I'm really surprissed that GSD crosses are not more popular. I had a GSD x Grey/Deerhound many years ago and he was a fantastic working dog. He was bred in Plymouth for foxing. Didn't ever use him on the lamp and he was too heavy for daytime rabbits. Hare's, that was another story. He had so much stamina that he woould run them in to the ground, often out staying my Saluki x Grey. He caught me 100's of pheasants, really clever dog. Would put them up and chase them. They would land 2 fields away and he would be 10ft behind, just waiting to snap them up...... Was really brave, would jump off the local canal bridges in to the water, just for the hell of it, and was tough as old boots....Have bred stafs and he was equal to them in this area. His reputation locally was huge and no one would dare enter the rear garden for fear of never leaving. He was also able to jump onto an 8ft sandstone wall around a neighbours farm.....Very good old dog and sadly missed.... Quote Link to post

Back Stabbath 1
Yeah I knew of a GSDxDoberman who used to catch hares. He ran them into herds of cattle to confuse them. Quote Link to post
